About
From conceptualization to execution, I do it all.
I design and code websites and print materials, and even do a little video production.
Growing up in Babylon, Long Island, I thought I’d become a photographer. Photography helped me develop an eye for observing a scene, choosing how I wanted it to be portrayed and taking the picture in a way that was consistent with that concept.
I apply those same skills to design. I observe, hone in on the story that wants to be told, and tell it. Color schemes, layouts, etc. are just like the contents in the frame of a photograph. I use my talent and expertise to shape them in the right way.
I never lose site of the goal. My clients need my services because they want to promote their brand, products or services. I use color schemes, details and structural elements to meet that function.
Conceptualization. Planning. Execution.
A Little More About Me
I got started with design and coding when the subcontractor at the printing company that I was working for wasn’t producing quickly enough. In a matter of months I was designing small websites for their clients and eventually coding WordPress and jquery. It wasn’t just about the work. I realized that I had a passion for design, and I loved what I was doing. Eventually, I earned a BA in Visual Communications from Westwood College.
My passion for design has never waned. In my spare time, I keep up with the latest trends and software, and I still do photography and some occasional drawing. Each creative endeavor informs the other, so I make it a point to stay inspired. My personal motto is, “Stay focused, stay grinding, and keep it moving.” Ever since I discovered design, my momentum hasn’t stopped, and I don’t intend for it to.
I’m Des, and I’m a do-er.I do things….
